Book Festival 2010

Aren’t books great?

A mighty festival within an even mightier festival is that of Edinburgh’s 2010 Book Festival at Charlotte Street Gardens. This is somewhere to escape the chaos and adrenalin of the Fringe with a shot of tranquillity and sanity in an otherwise insanity fuelled event.

The book event of the year runs from 14 – 30 August with tickets flying out like hot cakes. Ouch!

In addition to three cafes, two bookshops and a warm atmosphere the 2010 Book Festival diary is booked with literary gems from the four corners of the globe.

Rub shoulders with readers and writers alike from Booker Prize winners to an assortment of brand new authors of the printed page whilst sitting back and watching the world go by. Or you can attend a workshop, hear your favourite author speak or join in a debate. If you can resist this offer of a bit of ‘whatever you fancy’ you are a stronger willed person than I! Prepare to be inspired!

Watch out for the new addition to the Book Festival named ‘Unbound’ happening every evening from 15th August from 9pm till 11pm at the Highland Park Spiegeltent. Everything on offer here promises to be fine; wine, music and literature and entry is also fine because it’s free.
